A Fabulous Evening for the Friends!
The Friends of the Media-Upper Providence Free Library hosted a special evening at the Delaware County Institute of Science on Saturday, April 25, 2009. The event included live music, excellent food and wine and lively guest speakers.
Guest speaker Judy Martelli.
Joan Hagan, vice-president of the Friends of the Library, spoke about the importance of public libraries and the Friends’ efforts to support the MUP library. Library Director John Kennedy shared information about library usage and upcoming programs. Albert Palmer, President of the Institute of Science, described the institute’s mission and history. The highlight of the evening was a visit with Judy Martelli who described her experiences as a member of the Mighty Macs NCAA Championship Team, subject of the soon to be released movie “Our Lady of Victory.”
All agreed it was a wonderful way to spend time at one of Media’s greatest treasures while supporting another!
